Right Whale Rescued [PHOTOS]

Congratulations to the Campobello Whale Rescue Team who responded to the Bay of Fundy on Saturday, August 13th to the report of North Atlantic right whale that was entangled in fishing gear.

According to the Canadian Whale Institute, they worked for five hours cutting away the lines until the whale was able to swim away free of gear.

Kudos to the New England Aquarium Right Whale Team who were on stand by if needed.

According to NOAA Fisheries, North Atlantic Right Whales can weigh up to 70 tonnes (158,000 pounds) and are about 50 feet long.
