The Boston Red Sox won their 17th game, defeating Oakland 7-3, Friday night, April 20th, powered by Mitch Moreland's Grand Slam in the top of the 6th inning. It was Moreland's 4th homer in as many games (dating back to 2017) at the Oakland Coliseum. He now has 15 homers in 46 career games at Oakland!

The Red Sox banged out 11 hits. Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a 3 run homer. Eduardo Nunez was 3-4 wit a double.

Drew Pomeranz, activated just prior to the game (the Red Sox optioned Miarcus Walden to Triple A Pawtucket), went 3.2 innings and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 2. The Red Sox relief corps were again stellar, not allowing a run in 5.1 innings. That means they haven't allowed a run in theri last 19.1 innings and only 1 in their last 25.1 innings. Hector Velazquez picked up his 3rd win of the season, he's now 3-0, pitching 3 innings of 4 hit relief.
