The score was more appropriate for a football game, than a baseball game, but at least the Red Sox were the winners, defeating the Seattle Mariners 22-10 on Saturday, August 15th at Fenway Park. In the last 2 games, the Red Sox have scored 37 runs... Compare that to the month of July, when they scored 111 runs all month long, in 26 games.

Every starter with the exception of first baseman Travis Shaw (0-6) had hits. Jackie Bradley Jr. was 5-6 with 7 RBIs. All of Bradley Jr.'s hits went for extra bases, as he had 3 doubles and 2 home runs. Xander Bogaerts was 4-7. Blake Swihart was 4-5. Mookie Betts, Brock Holt and David Ortiz each had 3 hits. All together, the Red Sox banged out 26 hits!

Wade Miley evened his record at 9-9 going 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits striking out 8. It's a good thing the Red Sox had a big lead, as after Miley left, Tommy Layne gave up 3 runs in 2/3 of an inning and Ryan Cook gave up 5 runs in 2/3 of an inning before Robbie Ross Jr. got the last 2 outs, closing the door on the Mariners.

The Red Sox and Mariners play Sunday afternoon at 1:35 PM with the pregame beginning at 12:50 on AM 1370 WDEA. Henry Owens will take the mound for the Red Sox.
