The Boston Red Sox improved to a league best 16-2, after sweeping the Angels and winning Thursday night's game 8-2.

The Red Sox continued their home run hitting streak, blasting 2 on Thursday. Mookie Betts led off the game with his 6th homer of the season, and Andrew Benintendi hit his 1st, in the 6th inning.

Eduardo Rodriguez went 6 innings to pick up his 2nd win of the season. He's now 2-0. He gave up 3 hits, 2 runs, both earned and struck out 5, walking 3. 3 Red Sox relievers pitched 3 innings, allowing a combined 1 hit, striking out 4 and walking none.

Rafael Devers and JD Martinez were each 3-4. Martinez had 2 doubles. Mitch Moreland, Brock Holt and Mookie Betts also had a double.

The Red Sox now start a 3 game series with the Oakland A's. Friday night's pregame begins at 9:20PM with the 1st pitch at 10:05 on AM 1370 WDEA. Drew Pomeranz will make his 1st start for the Red Sox.
