On a night that the Red Sox honored David Ortiz for having hit his 500th home run it was Xander Bogaerts who stole the show, hitting a grand slam home run in the 7th inning to give the Red Sox a 8-7 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. The result, the Red Sox are finally out of last place and are 72-77 on the season, 5 games under .500, the best record they have had since before the All-Star Break.

Bogaerts ended the night with 5 RBIs and now has 182 hits on the season. If he reaches the 200 hit plateau he would be the 22nd player 22 or under to do so!

The Red Sox and Rays continue their series on Tuesday night. You can hear the pregame beginning at 6:20 PM on AM 1370 WDEA.
