The Boston Red Sox made a flurry of roster moves Sunday morning, prior to their 1:35 start against the Toronto Blue Jays.

After Blake Swihart and Ryan Hannigan were both removed from Saturday's game against Toronto, both were placed on the 15 day disabled list. Swihart, injured when he crashed into the left field wall in foul territory is on because of a left ankle sprain. Hannigan, who has been complaining of neck soreness, is on with a neck strain. The earliest they could return would be June 23rd against the White Sox.

The Red Sox also optioned pitcher Noe Ramirez to Triple A Pawtucket.

The Red Sox recalled outfielder Rusney Castillo and pitcher Heath Embree and placed catcher Sandy Leon on the active roster.
