The Boston Red Sox made a series of roster moves Sunday afternoon after their 16-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on August 14th. Chief among them was knuckleballer Steven Wright being placed on the 15 day disabled list retroactive to August 8th.

Wright who is 13-5 with a 3.01 earned run average injured his shoulder diving back into a base against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has missed 1 start, and Clay Buchholz will start in his place on Thursday, August 18th.

Hanley Ramirez was placed on the 3 Day Bereavement list.

The Red Sox also optioned Roenis Elias back to Pawtucket.

The Red Sox did not announce the corresponding roster moves Sunday night.

The Red Sox continue their stretch of 23 games in a row, with the start of an 11 game road trip on Monday, August 14th with 1 game at Cleveland. The pregame starts at 12:25 with the 1st pitch at 1:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
