The Boston Red Sox lost on Sunday, July 23rd to the Angels 3-2 and decided that the answer to their 3rd Base woes is Rafael Devers, who they called up from Triple A Pawtucket after the loss on Sunday. The 20 year old has hit .324 in 9 games at Triple A with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs but has made 4 errors in the field.

As for Sunday's game, Rick Porcello was again the hard luck loser, as the Red Sox's offense only managed 6 hits. Porcello pitched a complete game, allowing just 5 hits, but 3 of those were solo home runs. He struck out 6 and walked 1. Porcello, last year's Cy Young Award Winner is now 4-13 on the 2017 season.

Brock Holt playing 2nd Base, was 2-3. Hanley Ramirez was the DH and was 2-4 with a home run, his 16th of the season.

The New York Yankees won on Sunday and Tampa Bay lost, so the Yankees are now in 2nd base, 2.5 games behind the Red Sox, while the Ray are in 3rd place, 3.5 games behind.

The Red Sox travel to Seattle and will play a 3 game series starting on Monday, July 24th with the pregame starting at 9:25 PM with the 1st pitch at 10:10 on AM 1370 WDEA. Eduardo Rodriguez is scheduled to start Monday night.
