The Boston Red Sox banged out 10 hits on Monday, but lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in a Spring Training game on Monday, February 27th. The Red Sox play the New York Yankees Tuesday afternoon starting at 1 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA.

Red Sox starting pitcher Brian Johnson pitched 2.2 innings allowing 3 runs, all earned on 4 hits. He struck out 4 and walked 3.

Xander Bogaerts, Chris Young and newly acquired Mitch Moreland had 2 hits each for the Red Sox. Young had a double.

Bogaerts is flying to South Korea on Tuesday, where he will be playing in the World Baseball Classic for the Netherland's Team. He will be shifting from his normal shortstop position to play 3rd Base for the team. It's expected that Brock Holt will play shortstop for most of the games for the Red Sox in Bogaerts' absence.
