The Boston Red Sox are still the only team without a 4 game losing streak as the Red Sox beat the Miami Marlins 8-7 on Tuesday night, August 29th . It wasn't pretty as the Red Sox bullpen faltered, turning a 4-1 lead into a near loss. The Red Sox allowed 5 runs in the top of the 8th inning. Then, trailing 6-4 the Red Sox scored 3 in the bottom of the 8th to take a 7-6 lead. But Craig Kimbrel allowed the tying run in the top of the 9th inning before they won on a throwing error in the bottom of the 9th for the walk-off win!

Jackie Bradley Jr. was 2-3 with 2 RBIs, a walk and a stolen base. His 2 run single in the 8th inning tied the game with 2 out and a 3-2 count.

JD Martinez was 2-4 scoring twice, including the game winning run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th.

Eduardo Nunez was 2-4, scoring 2 runs including a solo homer in the bottom of the 6th inning. His fielder's choice in the 9th inning resulted in the game winning run as the Marlins attempting a double play threw the ball away, allowing Martinez to score.

Brian Johnson, starting for the Red Sox went 4.1 innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 run, striking out 3 and walking 1.

Matt Barnes was hit hard in relief, allowing 2 homers, and 4 runs on 4 hits in just 1/3rd of an inning.

Craig Kimbrel picked up the vulture win, after allowing the tying run in the 9th inning.

It was a good thing the Red Sox won, as the Yankees won 5-4, scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Chicago White Sox. The Red Sox remain 6.5 games ahead of the Yankees.

The Red Sox will play the Marlins Wednesday night, in the 2nd game of the 2 game series. David Price pitches for the Red Sox with the pregame starting at 5:50 and 1st pitch at 6:35 on AM 1370 WDEA
