The Boston Red Sox remain alone in 1st place in the AL East after defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 on Wednesday, May 23rd

David Price started the game for the Red Sox and went 6 strong innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 earned run. He struck out 9 and walked3. Joe Kelly picked up the win, pitching the 8th inning, he's now 3-0. Craig Kimbrel saved the game striking out 2 in the 9th. It was his 15th save of the season.

The Red Sox only managed 5 hits on the night. Jackie Bradley Jr. and Xander Bogaerts each doubled and Eduardo Nunez had 2 singles. Andrew Benintendi walked 3 times and Mookie Betts walked twice.

The Red Sox are now 34-15. They will play Tampa Bay in the final game of the 3 game series Thursday night, May 24th with the pregame starting at 6:25 PM and first pitch at 7:10 PM on AM 1370 WDEA. The Red Sox will send Rick Porcello to the mound.
