Sale may have shown Major League Baseball that the Red Sox is his team after throwing close to 100 miles a hour behind Manny Machado in the 1st inning and then proceeding to strike him out!


Sale pitched 8 innings allowing just 3 hits, 2 runs, both earned and struck out 11 while walking 2. This was Sale's 5th double-digit strikeout game. He now leads the majors with 63 strikeouts.

Hanley Ramirez was 2-4 with 2 homers, both solo shots leading off in the 4th and 6th innings. He has now hit 4 homers in his last 4 games, 3 of which have been estimated to have traveled over 440 feet.
