The Boston Red Sox scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning on Sunday night, to take the rubber game of the series, beating the Chicago Cubs 6-2 in Fenway Park.

Eduardo Rodriguez pitched 6 strong innings for the Red Sox, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits, striking out 9 and walking 2. Joe Kelly blew the save, Matt Barnes picked up his 3rd win of the season pitching a scoreless 8th inning and Craig Kimbrel pitched the 9th in a non-save situation.

Hanley Ramirez hit another tape measure home run in the 1st inning, a 2 run homer, his 3rd of the season.

Andrew Benintendi was 2-4 and is batting .333. According to Elias he is the first Red Sox rookie to lead the club in hits and RBIs through the month of April since Fred Lynn did it in 1975.

The Boston Red Sox open a 4 game series with the Baltimore Orioles Monday night, May 1st with the pregame starting at  6:25 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA. Rick Porcello takes the mound for the Red Sox.
