Red Sox Beat Baltimore 8-1 [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox enjoyed a little home cooking, returning to Fenway Park after a 4 game series in Detroit, and beat the Baltimore Orioles Tuesday night, April 11th 8-1. The Red Sox are now 3-0 at Fenway. It’s just the 2nd time since 2002 that the Red Sox have started the season with 3 straight wins at Fenway Park. The 2 teams finish their brief 2 game series Tuesday night, April 12th.
Christian Vazquez has been perfect on the season at the plate. He was 4-4 with a double, triple and RBI. He has yet to make an out when at bat and is the 1st Red Sox player since Ted Cox in 2002 to reach base in his first 7 bats on the season.
Drew Pomeranz pitched 6.0 innings and allowed 4 hits, 1 earned run while walking 1 and striking out 6. It was his 1st career win at Fenway!
Dustin Pedroia was 2-4 with 4 RBI’s and now has a 7 game season-opening hitting streak.
After a quiet opening series at the plate Mitch Moreland went 1-4 with another double. He has now hit doubles in 5 straight games. In his last 17 at bats he is 9-17 batting .529 with 6 doubles.
