The Boston Red Sox beat the Houston Astros 7-5 at Fenway Park on Sunday night, October 14th and turned the Best of 7 series into a Best of 5 series with the series tied 1-1. The teams are off on Monday, with the series set to resume Tuesday, October 16th in Houston.

David Price went 4.2 innings  for Boston allowing 4 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 4 and walked 4. The Boston Red Sox relievers were stellar, getting 13 outs. Matt Barnes, Ryan Brasier and Rick Porcello pitched 3.1 hitless innings. Craig Kimbrel pitched the 9th and allowed a run on 2 hits but ended up picking up the save.

Mookie Betts had 2 doubles, Jacke Bradley Jr. and Steven Pearce each had a double.Rafael Devers was 2-3

The Boston Red Sox announced during the game that ace Chris Sale was admitted to Mass General Hospital for a stomach illness prior to the game and was going to stay overnight Sunday night into Monday for observation.
