The Red Sox defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 7-5 on Friday, September 4th at Fenway Park, and Joe Kelly, picked up his 7th consecutive victory! The last time Kelly lost a game was July 11th, and since then, he's been 7-0 with a 2.72 ERA.

Mookie Betts had 2 doubles, giving him 33 on the season and went 2-4. Brock Holt was 2-3, Xander Bogaerts was 2-4 and Jackie Bradley Jr. was 1-3 with a solo home run, his 7th of the season.

Boston led 7-2 in the 9th inning but Jean Machi, the new closer allowed 3 runs, on 4 hits in 2/3 of an inning. It was up to Robbie Ross to close out the Phillies and he finally did, earning his first ever save.

The Red Sox and Phillies are back in action Saturday afternoon, with the pregame starting at 3:20 PM and first pitch at 4:05 on AM 1370 WDEA.
