The Boston Red Sox beat the Chicago White Sox 4-1 on Wednesday, May 31st behind the strong pitching of Drew Pomeranz and the bat of Pablo Sandoval who was activated from the disabled list prior to the game.

Pomeranz pitched 7.0 innings, allowing just 1 run while striking out 8 and giving up 7 hits. He didn't walk anyone. Matt Barnes pitched a scoreless 8th inning and Craig Kimbrel struck out the side in the 9th inning for his 15th save of the season.

Sandoval, starting as designated hitter in place of Hanley Ramirez went 3-4 with a RBI.

The Red Sox are now 2-1 on their 10 game road trip. They open a 4 game series in Baltimore on Thursday, June 1st with the pregame starting at 6:20 PM and 1st pitch at 7:05 on AM 1370 WDEA.
