Tuesday, May 22nd is a big day for Southwest Harbor residents, specifically for the children of Southwest Harbor. For on that night, at 6 PM the Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing at the Southwest Harbor Town Office to decide if they will place a question on the June 12th ballot.

The Public Hearing is "Should the inhabitants of the Town of Southwest Harbor appropriate a sufficient sum up to $180,000 as a loan from undesignated fund balance for the purpose of replacing the K-2 playground at Pemetic School as well as a climber for grades 3-8? Such loan to be repaid from future tax revenue in the sum of $30,000 annually, until the undesignated fund balance has been repaid in full."
