The Boston Red Sox won their 1st game of 2018, evening their record at 1-1 behind a gem of a performance by starting pitcher David Price. Price needed just 76 pitches to throw 7 scoreless 4 hit ball. He didn't allow a walk and struck out 5.

The bullpen after imploding opening day, pitched flawlessly. Matt Barnes pitched a perfect hitless 8th inning, striking out 1 and walking 1 and closer Craig Kimbrel struck out the side in the 9th inning on 15 pitches to earn his 1st save of the season.

Xander Bogaerts hit 2 doubles, giving him 4 in 2 games. Rafael Devers single in the top of the 7th drove in Bogaerts for the game's only run. It was Devers 3rd RBI of the young season. Hanley Ramirez also had 2 hits.

The Red Sox will play Tampa Bay Saturday night in the 3rd game of the 4 game series. Rick Porcello is scheduled to pitch for the Red Sox. Pregame is at 5:25 with the 1st pitch at 6:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
