Downeast Maine is under a High Wind Warning until 8PM tonight, January 24th  and this afternoon, the forecast is for Southerly winds 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts up to 60 miles per hour. The high winds are resulting in power outages Downeast.

8:30PM UPDATE - There are 7442 Emera Maine Customers without power.

Winds should die down after midnight tonight. The forecast for tonight calls for very windy conditions with lows in the upper 20s. Winds will be Southwesterly 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour, becoming Westerly 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts up to 25miles per hour  after midnight
