Bangor Hydro Electric Company's staff are working diligently to try and restore power for everyone after the ice storm has finally left our area. Weather conditions should give their staff a fighting chance, as no more ice is predicted, but they are dealing with very cold temperatures.

The live outage map can be viewed HERE. As a result of the widespread damage, not everyone is expected to have power fully restored until Friday, December 27th.

Restoration Details:Restoration efforts will continue in full force today as Bangor Hydro crews, with the assistance of crews from Maine Public Service and additional outside resources, diligently work to restore power to customers following a two-day ice storm that blanketed much of the state with an inch of ice in some locations. Employees from all areas of the company have stepped up to assist customers with their needs. Crews are reporting snapped utility poles, and multiple tree limbs breaking due to the weight of the ice.

Customers are asked to be patient when calling the customer service center, as phone lines have been extremely busy. Outages can be reported at bangorhydro.com as well as the mobile site at bhe.com/m. Restoration times are available at those locations as well.

Please remember it's never safe to try to remove fallen power lines or trees touching them. If a line is in a roadway, please take an alternate route or wait for utility crews to remove them. Generators should be properly installed and only placed outside.

Other Related Information:Customers may report outages or ask questions by calling our Customer Service Centers at 1-800-440-1111 (Bangor Hydro) and 877-655-4448 (Maine Public Service.)
