Portland Man Seeking Help Getting Home After Rescuing Dog
Many people these days fall in love on the internet and when Portland resident Joel Carpenter saw a 3-month-old dog online who was waiting to be adopted, it was love at first sight. The only problem was his new love was in Minneapolis!
Her name is Sadie, and she is indeed a very pretty lady. Joel didn't care what it took to get her, but knew she would be his. After buying a one way ticket to Minneapolis, he adopted Sadie on Sept. 23, and then began to think about how he would get home over 1,500 miles away.
With just enough money to get him one way, Joel has been couch surfing and hitchhiking his way back to Vacationland with his new lady by his side. He doesn't know when his next ride will be, or where it will take him, but he is getting help and attention along the way.
He was last known to be in Michigan after hitching an RV ride to Detroit. Joel hopes to be home within a week, but has no solid plans as to how he will get there. He has been posting on Craigslist.com asking for rides and places to stay. If you would like to offer a hand to Joel and his new pooch you can contact him by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org and by phone at 207-712-0758.
