A woman whose body was pulled from the Penobscot River on Monday has been identified. Police say 51-year-old Barbara Goodwin of Bangor died of drowning.

Detectives say Goodwin was last seen in Bangor on Thursday leaving a medical provider’s office and they continue to investigate where and how she ended up in the river. No one had reported her missing.

Her identity was confirmed with assistance from the Bangor Police, who had prior contact with her. Anyone who had seen or had contact with Goodwin since Thursday is asked to call the State Police barracks in Orono at 866-2122.
