It should surprise no one that alcohol is suspected to have been involved when a street sweeper ended up on its side in Bangor. So who sweeps up when a street sweeper has an accident?

The Bangor Police Department posted some interesting pictures on its Facebook page today. Ever seen the bottom of a street sweeper? And I'm not talking about the derriere of a guy carrying a long-handled dustpan. This is one of those huge, slow-moving vehicles with all the brushes swirling underneath.

Apparently, it ended up on its side on Stillwater Avenue recently. The man driving it, who Police say was not a Bangor Public Works employee, was suspected of being intoxicated.

Check out the post, and appreciate the irony of public safety officers sweeping up the remains of a street sweeper. You can't make this stuff up!
