Ellsworth High School and Hancock County Technical Center student Connor Petros has had quite a Spring. This past Saturday, April 30h, he was honored as HCTC's Student of the Yea at the Maine Career and Technical Education Center's Awards Dinner in Lewiston. While here he was one of two students who received a $1000 scholarship.

The same weekend, he and his family then drove to Portland, for the Portland Youth Film Festival, where his film "Main Street" was selected as winner of the People's Choice Award

Earlier this year, he won a New England Newspaper and Press Association Award for New Video for his video on the Hermione's visit to Castine on July 14, 2015. He won this for the Ellsworth American

He and his partner, Dylan Kelley won a bronze medal at the State of Maine SkillsUSA competition in Bangor in March

Connor was the director of the student crew that filmed and edited the Every 15 Minutes Video from May 3rd at Ellsworth High School

He was also the director and driving force behind the soon to be released music video for the Trisha Mason Band.

Connor will be attending NESCom in the fall of 2016 at Husson University.
