The Red Sox put starting second baseman Dustin Pedroia back on the 15 day disabled list on Saturday, July 25th with a hamstring injury. Pedroia had been on the disabled list for a little over 3 weeks, and was just reinstated after the All Star Game. Since the All Star Game, Pedroia was 1-22.

He played in 7 games, but missed the finale of the Houston series on Thursday July 23rd and the start of the Detroit series on Friday, July 24th.

The Red Sox activated Steven Wright, the starter in Saturday afternoon's game to the active roster to take Pedroia's place. It's expected that after Saturday's start the Red Sox will option Wright back to Pawtucket and recall another infielder to take Pedroia's spot.
