Beginning April 15th the Hulls Cove Visitor Center will be open daily 8:30AM -4:30PM, with expanded hours from 8AM to 6PM from July 1st through August 31st. The Thompson Island Picnic Area is closed to vehicular traffic at dark.

“The park staff are working hard to prepare for another busy season at Acadia,” said Superintendent Kevin Schneider. “Preparing the park includes hiring and training staff, opening facilities, clearing roads, and working with businesses and local communities to create the best experience possible at Acadia.”

While the Park Loop Road is open, the Cadillac Summit Road will be open only 9AM to 5PM from April 15th until further notice. This is due to the snow and ice melt, freezing during the night and creating possible icy driving conditions. Consequently you won't be able to watch sunrise or sunset from the summit for a little while.

The Sand Beach Entrance Station (located on the one-way section of the Park Loop Road) will be staffed and entrance passes will be sold starting on Tuesday, May 1. Park entrance passes are required in all areas of Acadia National Park from May 1 until Oct 31 of each year’s season
