The Red Sox scored five runs in the first inning and the proceeded to score in every inning  except the eighth in a 12-2 rout on the Baltimore Orioles. The Sox stay two games in front of the Blue Jays and now three games ahead of the O's.

While the Sox offense was doing its thing, David Price mowed down the Birds for eight innings, throwing 99 pitches (76 strikes). He gave up two solo home runs, the only hits for the Birds. Price struck out nine and did not walk a batter. He is now 16-8 with a 3.81 ERA.

David Ortiz hit another homer, his 536th and that homer moves him into a tie with Mickey Mantle for 17th on the all-time list.

But Chris Young had the best night at the plate, four hits, including a homer, two doubles and a single.

The Sox are 81-62 with 19 game left on the schedule. The Red Sox play the Orioles in the middle game of the series on Tuesday night with the pregame starting at 6:25 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
