Pick you Red Sox bad news...David Ortiz shin injury. Mookie Betts calf injury. An embarrassing performance by the bullpen. The offense going 2-for-11 with RISP (Runners In Scoring Position). The news all adds up to a 9-4 loss to the NY Yankees.

The Sox seemed to have this one in control, leading 4-1. But, Drew Pomeranz again could not get through six innings.

Matt Barnes, Fernando Abad and Junichi Tazawa combined to give up seven earned runs in the 7th inning.

Ortiz would then foul a pitch off his shin and left the game. Betts pulled up with a sore calf and he left the game.

The Sox are now 61-51. Toronto won and Baltimore lost so the Blue Jays move into first place in the AL East.

The Red Sox and the Yankees play the final game of the series tonight. Knuckleballer Steven Wright was scheduled to start but he jammed his shoulder running the bases against the Dodgers and will miss a start. Eduardo Rodriguez is now scheduled to start with the pregame starting at 6:25 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA
