The status of Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval is still up in the air after Dr. James Andrews could not do a full examination because of soreness in Sandoval's shoulder.

Sandoval went to the specialist in Florida to get a second opinion on his injury but instead got a cortisone shot and will return to Andrews in a couple of weeks.

He was put on the DL by the Sox but no one knows exactly how or when he injured the shoulder.
