The Boston Red Sox got major production from the middle of their lineup in the finale of their series with the Yankees and was key to an 8-5 win.With the Sox leading one nothing in the third inning David Ortiz launched a home run to right field making it a 4-0 game. The home run was also the 450th of the career for Ortiz. Dustin Pedroia also had a big night collecting three hits and three rbi.

Mookie Betts who was called up by Boston prior to Saturday's game made his big league debut with a start in right field. Betts got his first hit with a single in the 4th inning, before walking and scoring a run in 6th inning on a Dustin Pedroia sac fly.

John Lackey labored through five innings but earned hit 9th win of the season.

The Sox return to Fenway tonight where they start a three-game set with the Chicago Cubs. Boston will play 13 of their next 16 games at home.
