One Dead, One Injured In Orland Crash

A Surry man was killed in a crash on Upper Falls Rd in Orland Sunday night.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Peyton Webster.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says Webster failed to negotiate a right-hand turn. His vehicle went off the road, overturned and came to rest on its roof.

Webster was pronounced dead at the scene.

A female passenger in the vehicle was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

McCausland says it appears that speed was a factor in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by Jeff McFarland of the Hancock County Sheriff's Office.
