Mookie Betts set a record becoming the 1st Red Sox player to drive in 8 runs from the lead-off spot in the batting order, as the Boston Red Sox crushed the Toronto Blue Jays 15-1 on Sunday, July 2nd. The Boston Red Sox now have a 4 game winning streak and are 3.0 games ahead of the New York Yankees alone in 1st place in the AL East.

Betts was 4-6 with 2 home runs. He now has 15 homers on the season. One of the home runs came after Lin and Marrero reached on consecutive bunts!
