Customers in the Bangor Hydro Electric Company service district are beginning to experience power outages as a result of the heavy winds. Winds are expected to remain high, 25 to 35 miles per hour, with gusts up to 50 to 60 miles per hour through 8 PM tonight.

Restoration Details:Bangor Hydro customers are experiencing power outages today related to strong winds and rain. The operations team has been watching the storm closely and placed additional crews on stand by to address power outages through the day and tonight. Most of the outages are concentrated in Penobscot and Washington Counties at this time. No Maine Public Service customers are currently experiencing power outages.

Customers are reminded to avoid coming in contact with fallen power lines or trees touching them. Generators and alternate heat sources should be used in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.
