City Manager David Cole announced today, February 14th, that he has appointed Glenn Moshier as the new Ellsworth Police Chief, pending City Council confirmation. There will be a special council meeting Friday February 24th for the Council to ratify this appointment. Once confirmed, a special swearing-in ceremony will be held at approximately 10 AM.

Moshier is a 13 year veteran of the Ellsworth Police Department. He has spent 8 years as Sargeant, and since December, Captain. Most recently he has been interim Police Chief.

According to City Manager Cole

We are excited to promote from within the Ellsworth Police Department, as Glenn has intimate knowledge of the department, as well as the respect and support from the staff of the Ellsworth Police Department. He also has great ideas and enthusiasm for taking the department forward to meet the ever-changing needs of the community.
