New Acadia National Park Permit Requirements

Acadia National Park has announced new permit requirements for groups of 20 or more.

If you are planning an event that will have 30 or more people at a stationary event, such as a birthday party, picnic or family reunion, you will need a special permit. A non refundable fee of $50 is required when you file your special permit request

If you are in a group of 20 or more, that will be on hiking trails, carriage roads or bike paths, you will also need a special permit. Again, a non refundable fee of $50 is required when you file your special permit request.

Constitutionally protected first amendment activities that will be attended by 25 or more people require a special permit.

A special permit request does not serve as permission for the event to take place.
