Back in 2015 I sat down with Wendy Littlefield to discuss National Bereaved Parent's Awareness Month. This occurs in July every year. I thought it would be a good time to republish this video.

July is National Bereaved Parent’s Month. WDEA’s Chris Popper sat down with Wendy Haynes Littlefield to talk about National Bereaved Parent’s Month. Wendy’s and John’s daughter, Ashleigh Littlefield passed away suddenly at home on May 30, 2010.  She was 18.

Wendy talks about helping other parents who have suffered the loss of a child. She offers suggestions on what to say to parents, what not to say and things you can do to help a parent if they experience such a misfortune. Wendy speaks about the steps she took in coping with Ashleigh’s death, and how after 5 years she still has tough days when the grief is overwhelming.

Wendy has undergone training in helping others who have experienced the death of a child. She makes an offer to talk with anyone who has lost a child, and is in the process of recovery.
