Moody Mermaid in Southwest Harbor to Close After Building is Sold

After nearly 30 years, a Southwest Harbor institution, the Moody Mermaid will be closing once the building sells. Located on Main Street, the building and business is owned by Kristina Stanley.

On the market through the Swan Agency Sotheby's International Realty the building went up for sale on Tuesday, September 20th, 2017. It includes a spacious retail shop of 1,899 square feet  with salon of 225 sq feet as well as storage and utility room located on Main Street. Additionally there is a 1,224 sq feet income producing two bedroom apartment on the second floor used as a vacation rental. The salon is currently rented. The asking price for the building is $625,000.

When asked what she will be doing next, Kristina Stanley she had some ideas, but wasn't ready to divulge them.
