Maine Drug Enforcement Agents are on the scene of a suspected methamphetamine lab today. Two people are in custody.

MDEA's lab team is processing the duplex home at 212 Pond Road in Lewiston. Agents are dressed in protective suits and are wearing respirators as the chemicals used in the process of making meth can be toxic.

A search warrant was served at the home last night and the house was secured during the night by law enforcement. Ethel Hallock (51) and Mark Theriault (45) are charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release that this is the 23rd meth lab that MDEA has responded to this year, which is an all-time record in Maine.
