The State Medical Examiner's Office says Southern Maine Meteorologist Tom Johnston died of exposure. The popular weatherman who worked for WCSH-TV in Portland, but was also seen on WLBZ-TV in Bangor, passed away earlier this month after disappearing. His family reported him missing after he failed to return from a work weekend at Sunday River ski resort April 1-2. Johnston's body was found on April 6th in a wooded area of Auburn, and his death was immediately deemed a suicide.

An investigation by the State Medical Examiner's office determined that Johnston inflicted wounds on his arms and then slipped into unconsciousness. He died of exposure as he lay in the woods.
