State Police are asking for the public's help identifying three men involved in an armed robbery of medical marijuana plants. The men reportedly wore clothing impersonating law enforcement personnel.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release the three men wore clothing which is easily obtainable online, that looks like a SWAT-style vest and a shirt that says 'Sheriff' on the front. One of the men was also armed with what looked like a semi-automatic handgun.

The three entered the facility in Winterport at around 7 a.m. last Sunday, September 21st. The homeowner confronted the trio verbally and they fled the scene, but not before grabbing armfuls of mature  marijuana plants. Police say no shots were fired and no one was injured.

Surveillance cameras on the property caught images of two of the robbers. Anyone with any information about this case is asked to call the State Police in Augusta at 624-7076, and ask for either Trooper Elisha Fowlie or Trooper Sarah Ferland.
