On Monday, September 11th the MDI Girls and Boys Soccer Teams held a Middle School Clinic/Step Up Day at MDI High School from 4 PM to 5:30 PM. There were about 56 girls and 40 boys from Pemetic, Tremont, Northeast Harbor, Bar Harbor, Trenton, Hancock and Lamoine Schools participating.

The high school girls started the session by going through a few of their typical everyday routines (warm up, dynamic stretching, touches on the ball and possession keep away) Coach Dow from the girl's team then set up different stations including a goalie station where the high school team members were leading and instructing each station, ranging from passing, dibbling, shooting, short and long ball combinations and a dribbling/weaving/shooting combination.

Towards the end of the day, there was a fun running competition, where all of the girls including the members of the high school team were cheering each other on. To end the day there was a competitive game of Tic-Tac-Toe using bibs as the "X's" and "O's"

All in all it was a great day. According to Coach Dow "This was a great opportunity for both the Middle Schools and High School! It was nice to be able to see  the middle school soccer players and to see how my girls interacted and helped lead their own respective stations. I was pleasantly surprised by all of them! It seemed like everyone was happy and had fun! I loved the turnout and it was a great day for soccer!"
