Let the festivities begin!

Acadia's Oktoberfest, a craft, music and food festival,  is always a fun time and it's happening this Friday and Saturday, once again at  Smuggler's Den Campground off Route 102/Main Street in Southwest Harbor!

Friday night the "Wine & Cheese Tasting" event will kick everything off.  Cost is $15 per person or $27 per couple and includes a program and wine tasting glass.

Saturday between noon and 6 will feature a "Brew Fest" and you'll find it under the Brew Tent which will be loaded with all sorts of local brewers serving up their fine craft beers!

The grounds and tents will be filled with many different musicians, along with many varieties of food and craft vendors, mostly from MDI and surrounding areas!

Now here's some creative sounding games for you!  How about the "Beer Stein Holding Contest?"  There's also the 2nd Annual 15# Torpedo Keg Toss, the Beerless Pong Tournament along with Best Brewer's Table and Best Costume!

Saturday winds down with The Great Ball Drop!

Full admission on Saturday is $30 per person which includes a beer glass and 10 drink tickets.  There's a $10 admission charge too, but you won't get a beer glass or any drink tickets.  Bring cash as a lot of venders will not take credit cards or checks, and bring your I.D. too.

Your Friday night Wine & Cheese ticket will save you 20% on Saturday's admission fee. Children under 12 are admitted free.  No dogs.  Check your back packs at the door.

The whole thing is a fundraiser for the Sourthwest Harbor and Tremont Chamber of Commerce.  More information here: www.acadiaoktoberfest.com
