MDI Upsets Presque Isle 3-2

Tuesday October 28th will go down as a night of upsets in Eastern Maine Class B Soccer, as 3 out of the 4 quarterfinals ended up in upsets, including #11 MDI upset win over #3 Presque Isle up in Aroostook County 3-2.

MDI scored first when Ryan Murray scored unassisted. Presque Isle  tied it when Chase Norton scored on an Alex Michaud assist and the 1st half ended 1-1.

In the second half, Chase McKim scored unassisted on a corner kick. Joe Grubb scored on a John Romero assist to make it 3-1. Presque Isle’s Griffin Guerrette scored on a Chase Norton assist.

MDI's Andrew Kendrew had 9 saves while Presque Isle's Andrew Patterson made 8 saves.

#11 MDI is now 7-7-2 and will play #10 Oceanside in the Eastern Maine Semifinals. Oceanside defeated #2 Camden Hills 1-0. Presque Isle finishes their season 11-3-1

In other action #12 Medomak Valley upset #4 Erskine Academy 3-1 and #1 Ellsworth defeated #9 Foxcroft Academy 5-2.

That means the Semifinals are #1 vs #12 and #11 vs #10
