In a highly anticipated match, the MDI Trojans beat the Ellsworth Eagles 3-0 on Wednesday evening at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor. The individual set scores were 25-23, 25-10 and 25-19.

Coach Corey Papadopoli on the game

The match lived up to the hype early on. The first set was a back and forth battle with neither team really taking control until the end of the game. In the second set I feel like we played better overall and continued the flow of momentum onto our side. We had higher hitting and serving percentages and played tough defense.  The third set saw us get off to a rocky start with a bunch of serving errors, but a quick flurry of points put us up for good and the girls finished strong.  We still have a lot of work to do but are excited for our trip to southern Maine this weekend
