On Senior Night at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor, the MDI Girl's Volleyball Team defeated Calais in straight sets, by the scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-14. It was Dig for a Cause Night as well, as both teams wore pink, autographed pink balls that were raffled off and sold pink baked goods.

Last night was a great send off for our seniors in our final regular season home game.  We got great performances out of all of them.  They cruised past Calais on strong hitting and serving.  These girls have given so much to this team on and off the court and that made it a little bittersweet.  We will miss them all.  At least we secured a home playoff game so they get to play in Bernard Parady gym at least one more time.  We'll make the most of what little time we have left with them.  The whole team is playing really well right now and we just want to keep that going.

Calais Stat Leaders
Kaylee Johnson 12-12 serving, 3 aces, 4 kills
Carson Hold 3 blocks
Kayli Doten 2 aces
Kyra Porter 3 aces.

MDI Stat Leaders
Helena Munson 4 aces, 3 kills, 1 assist, 1 dig
Sarah Phelps 5 aces, 6 kills, 1 dig
Kayla Ray 5 aces, 1 kill
Elise Robertson 2 aces, 6 kills, 2 blocks, 1 dig
Camilla Thomassen-Tai 1 ace, 6 kills, 1 assist, 1 dig

With the victory, MDI improved to 12-1 and has one regular season game left, at Cony on Monday, October 20th at 6 PM. With a victory on Monday, MDI is assured of finishing 2nd in the Heal Points. Calais finishes their regular season at 4-10 and will be in the playoffs.
