MDI Sports Hall of Fame

There is still time to nominate someone for the Class of 2016 MDI Sports Hall of Fame, but the deadline is Friday, September 9th!

All former Mount Desert Island High School, Bar Harbor High School, Mount Desert High School and Pemetic High School students, coaches, advisors, administrators, and other contributors are eligible for selection.  No more than one alumni and one advisor (or coach, administrator, or contributor) will be selected each year.

They must have played a varsity sport, and have been out of high school for a minimum of FIVE years. They must have superior accomplishments in their sport, for example, All State, All Conference, All League etc and clearly demonstrated integrity, sportsmanship and citizenship

The coach or advisor must not be a current employee of the MDI High School. They must have made significant contributions to an extra-curricular program at MDI High School, taking into account longevity and awards. They should have made significant contributions to the community or professional organizations at the state and/or national levels.

All nominations should be emailed to Bunky Dow, bdow@mdirss.org, Athletic Director for MDI High School no later than Friday September 9th!

The MDI Sports Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place Friday night, October 7th at half time of the home football game against Madison.
