The MDI Baseball Team split it's doubleheader with the Presque Isle Wildcats on a beautiful afternoon for baseball in Bar Harbor on Saturday, April 30th. Presque Isle won the 1st game 4-3 before the Trojans won the 2nd game 3-2.

Presque Isle led 1-0 at the top of the 4th inning and then scored 3 runs in the top of the 5th inning to take a 4-0 lead. MDI cut the lead by scoring 1 in the bottom of the 6th inning and then 2 more in the bottom of the 7th inning, but wasn't able to tie the score.

For Presque Isle Nick Bartlett had 2 singles with a RBI, Jonah Hudson had 2 singles, Jacob Kinney had 1 single and Jaren Winger had a single

Caleb Nadeau pitched for the Wildcats.

For MDI, Stanley Grierson had a single and a double with 2 RBIs. Nick Stanley had a single, Alden Fournier had a single, Seth Young had a single and Jacob Mitchell had a single.

Seth Young pitched the first 5 innings for MDI followed by  Geoffrey Hanscom who pitched the final 2 innings.

In the 2nd Game Seth Clark went the distance for MDI, allowing only 4 hits and striking out 6.

RJ Gross, Adam Paterson, Jacob  Kinney and Jaren Winger all had singles for Presque Isle.

For MDI, Ezra Johnson batting leadoff had 2 singles and a double. Alden Fournier had 2 singles, Nick Stanley had 2 singles, and Matt Lambert had a single

MDI is now 3-3 on the season and will play at Ellsworth against the Ellsworth Eagles on Thursday, May 5th at 4:30 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA.

Presque Isle is 2-5 and plays at Houlton on Thursday, May 5th at 4 PM.
