The MDI Baseball Team took the long ride up to Aroostook County on Saturday, May 21st and came away with a split of the doubleheader, losing the 1st game 3-2 and winning the 2nd game 8-1.

In the 1st game, Riley Swanson was 2-2 with a run batted in. Jacob Mitchell was 1-2 with a run batted in. Ezra Johnson, Stanley Grierson, and Drew Shea all had singles for MDI.

For Caribou, Justin Ouellette was 2-3 with a run batted in. Daniel Randolph was 1-3 with a run batted in. Michael Hunter, Noah Frost, Tyler Dombroski, and Mason Huck all had singles for the Vikings.

Seth Young took the tough luck loss for the Trojans, pitching a complete game. He had 7 strikeouts.

In the 2nd game, MDI's bats came alive banging out 12 hits. Jacob Mitchell led the attack with 3 hits, going 3-4 with a run batted in. Alden Fournier was 2-4 driving in 3 runs and Kyle Lamson was 2-4 with 3 runs batted in. Ezra Johnson had 2 hits, Matt Perconti had a single, Seth Young had a single and Matt Lambert had a single.

Seth Clark limited Caribou to 4 hits in the game,  and had 9 strikeouts, including striking out the side in the bottom of the 2nd inning.

For Caribou, Michael Hunter had 2 hits and Mason Huck had 2 hits, including a double.

MDI is now 5-8 and plays host to Bucksport on Tuesday, May 24th at 4:30 PM.

Caribou is 4-8 and plays host to Fort Kent on Monday, May 23rd at 4 PM.
