The MDI Trojans played host to the Camden Hills Windjammers in a 7-10 prelim game in Bar Harbor on Tuesday, June 10th, and the MDI Trojans came away with a 11-1 victory.

Camden Hills scored first in the top of the 1st inning. Julianna Haynes walked to start the game, and was erased on a fielder's choice, that allowed Hannah Corney to reach 1st base. Maddie Bowman singled which moved Corney to 2nd base. Charlotte Messer singled to load the bases, and then Natalie Hamalanian singled, scoring Corney. Camden Hills had the bases loaded with one out, and one run in. But then MDI catcher Shelby O'Neal came up firing and threw out Bowerman who had strayed too far off 3rd base for the 2nd out of the inning, and then MDI pitcher Haley Littlefield got Tayler Peasley on a swinging strikeout. Camden Hills led 1-0 after the top of the 1st ininng.

MDI got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 2nd inning, as they batted around, plating 4 runs.  Molly Carroll walked to start the inning, and went to 2nd on Katie Guarino's single. Darcy Kanu squared around to bunt, and took a strike, and then on the next pitch lined the ball to the fence, scoring Carroll and Guarino. Ali Bierman reached on an error by the Camden Hills 2nd baseman, scoring Kanu. Bierman went to 2nd base on an error by the Windjammer catcher. Haley Littlefield struck out for the 1st out of the inning. Shelby O'Neal sacrificed Bierman to 3rd base, and Bierrman scored the 4th run of the inning on a RBI by Sierra Myrick who reached on another Camden Hills error. At the end of the 2nd inning, MDI led 4-1.

MDI would add to it's lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning, batting around again, scoring 4 more runs., Carroll grounded out to short to start the inning, and Guarino doubled. Kanu popped out to 2nd base, and with two outs, MDI had Guarino at 2nd base. Guarino then stole 3rd base, and Bierman walked. Haley Littlefield laid down the sweetest bunt you have ever seen, and beat out the throw to first base, scoring Guarino, and Bierman went to 2nd base.  O'Neal singled, scoring Bierman, and then Myrick singled, scoring O'Neal and Littlefield. After 3 innings, MDI was up top 8-1.

MDI added 2 more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. With one out, Sierra Myrick doubled, and then Hannah Shaw, hit a 200 foot home run, over the right centerfield fence, that cleared the fence easily, for a two run homer! It was Hannah Shaw's last at bat at home! What a way to end to end her home career!

MDI added their final run in the bottom of the 6th inning. Aubrie Boyce, batting for Haley Littlefield reached on an error by the Camden Hills shorthstop with two out. Shelby O'Neal then stroked a triple over the right fielder's head that went to the fence, scoring Boyce for the final run, that gave MDI the 11-1 victory.

With the victory, MDI will play Old Town the #2 seed, Wednesday June 11th in Old Town at 4 PM, in a game that will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio. Old Town is the #2 seed, and are 16-0 on the season. Old Town beat MDI 8-7 in Old Town on May 5th and 6-5 in Bar Harbor on May 24th
